Please let me introduce myself; my name is Mark Armitage, originally from Rotherham in South Yorkshire, now based in Saddleworth, Greater Manchester (with quite a few stops in-between!)
I started my creative path back in 1994 when I studied a Foundation in Art & Design at the Rotherham college of Arts where I found a particular talent and passion for Photography. From here I moved on to study Photography in more depth at the Sheffield College and finally on to Newcastle where I graduated in 1999.
From here I went on to work as a Photographers assistant in Edinburgh, Image retoucher for a Sports Photo agency and as a freelance Public relations and Promotions Photographer in Nottingham and more recently Leeds.
I now specialise as a creative Wedding Photographer and cover Saddleworth, Oldham, Huddersfield, Greater Manchester, Tameside and surrounding areas.
I like all things creative and enjoy painting and play a little guitar too. I am husband to Gemma (the hardest working Midwife in Manchester) and dad to Seth and Edith who both exhaust and inspire me in equal measures! There's nothing we like more than sticking our wellies and coats on and going for a nice long walk in and around stunning Saddleworth that we are lucky enough to call home. Nature continues to be my greatest muse and I am definitely at my happiest outdoors.
I genuinely love my work as a Wedding Photographer, the days of stiff poses and set formats are long gone and I am free to be as creative and 'real' as I can be to capture the story of your day and all the details and character within it. I feel very lucky to be at one of the happiest days in peoples lives and to be able to capture this for them to enjoy in the years to come
I am a naturally calm person and work in a relaxed and unobtrusive manner. I prefer the more natural and un-posed style of photography and aim to capture your wedding just how you remember it.
